Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring/wear?

Sunglasses and enclosed shoes are essential.

You will be travelling in the open air up to the posted speed limits and bugs can hurt.

We can also do "go-slow" tours for passengers that may be feeling a little nervous.

We highly recommend wearing layers, long pants and a long sleeve shirt for sun & bug protection. Also bring water bottle and camera -we have saddlebags that can carry small bags and personal items.

Where do the tours start from? If in Toodyay, we operate from the motorcycle-friendly Cola Cafe and Museum on the main street. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour starts. Alternatively, pick-ups can be arranged from other locations.

Where do the tours go? We've created a variety of circuits (depending on the length of time you choose and the seasonal highlights) that will give you a fantastic overview of both town and the surrounding landscape. We highly recommend starting with a one hour tour to experience the best features of Toodyay & surrounds.

Is it safe? Yes. The Trike is extremely sturdy and with 3 wheels it cannot tip over even in the rain (unlike motorbikes). It is a fully licensed and certified Charter Vehicle with seatbelts and daily routine maintenance checks as well as full annual inspections as required by law. We are fully insured with Public Liability.

Kevin has over 40 years riding and mechanical experience (building, servicing & restoring motorcycles) - so you are in very safe hands.

Do I have to wear a helmet? Yes. Wearing a fastened helmet that fits you properly is mandatory. You will be asked to provide head measurements for each passenger at the time of booking - we will supply you with a clean helmet each or you are welcome to bring your own (provided it is legal and fits properly).

Using string or similar- measure  from just above the eyebrows, behind the ears to the back of your head at the widest part.

Helmet Size  Head Circumference (cm)

XS                53-54

S                    55-56

M                   57-58

L                    59-60

XL                  61-62

Is there a weight limit? Yes. The Trike is load limited to take maximum 190kg combined Passenger weight. It cannot exceed this for safety reasons.

As a general guide it can seat:

  • 2 x adults

  • 2 x adults + 1 child

  • 1 x adult + 2 children

  • 3 x teenagers/adults weighing maximum 60kg each person

If unsure - please ask at the time of booking.

What ages can go on the Trike? Minimum age for tours is 10 years old.

For kids under 10 we do a short circuit at low speed of the Toodyay townsite. The Trike is suitable for kids (must be with a parent/guardian), adults, the elderly and disabled. However, all passengers must be able to able to step up onto & off the Trike (bear body weight on one leg and turn around to seat themselves) without assistance from Kevin. A small step can be provided. Kevin will assess all potential passengers and reserves the right to refuse carriage for safety reasons. Please discuss any queries you may have with us at the time of booking.

What happens if it's raining? Weather can be unpredictable at any time of year and riding in rain is part of the experience. We keep a close eye on weather forecasts in the days before your tour - if it's forecast for heavy rain, thunderstorms or very strong winds we will contact you prior to the day and give you the option of rescheduling it to another day. Tours that cannot be rescheduled to another day will be given a full refund. We may need to cancel a tour at short notice due to extreme weather conditions  - full refunds will be given.

What happens if it's really hot? On forecast very hot days we highly recommend booking an early morning or late afternoon tour and avoiding the heat of the day. We will call you in advance to provide you with more comfortable options or the option to reschedule.

Can I get my photo taken? Yes! We are happy to take some photo's of you sitting on the Trike. We may take a photo which will be put up on our facebook page - though you can let us know if you don't want us to.

Can we hire you for parties? Yes - we love parties! Let us help you create an unforgettable experience for your guests at your next party with short 'joyrides' around the block to make sure everyone gets a spin. Just remember, we can only take children accompanied with an adult and for safety reasons cannot transport anyone that's under the influence.

ALLERGY ADVICE Being in the open air, occasionally bee & other insect stings can occur on motorcycles. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have an allergy to bees and ensure you bring your epipen if required. We have a first aid kit onboard & Personal Locator Beacon.

YOUR SAFETY Seatbelts and helmets MUST be worn at all times and only removed once the Trike has come to a complete stop.  Due to narrower country roads the Rider is unlikely to be able to stop or turn around for lost shoes, sunglasses or camera's - so hold on tight to your belongings at all times! No responsibility will be taken for lost or dropped items.

ZERO ALCOHOL/DRUG POLICY Your safety is our top priority at all times. We do not transport  passengers under the influence of alcohol or other substances. We reserve the right to refuse transportation of passengers we believe are under the influence - sorry, no refunds will be given.

BEHAVIOUR POLICY No screaming, yelling or flailing arms around etc. as it can distract Kevin and compromise safety. We reserve the right to end any tour at any time due to unreasonable unruly behaviour - no refunds will be given.
